Nina
Alternative names: the cat, weirdo
Age: 16 appearance-wise, 21 inner age
Likes: Yuri, Videogames
Dislikes: Social interaction, Authority figures, Math
Skills: Cat soul, Nine lives

First mentioned in: Chapter 1
First appeared in: Chapter 1

Description:
The main character of this series. She’s quite taciturn and talks very sparingly, even when in a one on one conversation with someone. The only reason why others can often tell what’s on her mind is because her emotions show clearly on her face.
Her current appearance is what she looked like in her previous life when she was sixteen. She has short black hair, yellow eyes and is below average in terms of height. She’s actually shorter than any other character introduced so far, except for Veras and Spectre. As for her chest, most girls her age would complain about how non-existent it is, but she’s not one to care about such petty things.
When activating cat soul, she changes a little bit. In this form, the ‘aura’ she gives off switches from ‘a young girl’ to ‘a predator’. She becomes a little more comfortable speaking out loud and her mood isn’t as visible on her face. She’s also less affected by fear, making it ideal for fighting. However, despite feeling different to the onlookers, her actual appearance doesn’t change at all.
Panther soul is her ultimate poker-winning mode. The only thing others can read from her expression when she turns on panther soul is ‘she’s gonna kill me’. It corrupts her personality into a ruthless bloodthirsty killer with no sense of empathy. As for her appearance, it doesn’t change much except for the black flame-like fog she emanates.
During tiger soul, her personality also gets corrupted, but in a very different way. It makes her depressed and jealous of everyone around her. Her thought process turns very cynical and negative. And unlike panther soul, this has some lasting mental effects even after it has been turned off. Her appearance changes a little more in this form. The tips of her hair glows with a red-ish/orange tone and even her Kat clothes turn orange with several black stripes remaining, imitating the appearance of a tiger.
Cheetah soul is similar to panther soul, but at the same time, it’s a complete opposite. People around Nina feel death, just like with panther soul. However, it’s not a murderous and violent death they expect, it’s more of a ‘I’m going to slowly wither away’ kind of death. Nina’s physical appearance also changes. Her clothing and hair turns brownish orange, she gains black spots all over her body and clothes, dark circles under her eyes and the air around her turns into a white fog shaped like ghastly screaming faces. This variant seemingly activates on its own when Nina runs out of mana and then gradually exhausts her until she falls asleep. When in this sleep, her regeneration is severely reduced and she will not wake up untill she has fully restored her mana. Her actual energy levels before the soul’s activation have an impact on how reduced the regeneration will be.
Lion soul is the last variant Nina unlocked, but since she hasn’t found a way to activate it yet, it’s effects are unknown.

Equipment:
Even after so long in the new world, Nina has not gotten her hands on any regular equipment yet. She became completely reliant on the claws from her Kat gloves as her weapon and her dress in the place of armor. She purchased an item bag back in Buanna from Rennack’s treasures, but since she met Kuro, it too has become a little obsolete.

Kat dress:
It’s a black one-piece dress extending slightly above Nina’s knees. As it is a gift from a god, the material it’s made out of is unknown. It grants resistance to both physical and magical attacks and gives an invisible boost to endurance. Since Nina rarely gets hit thanks to her speed, it’s still not clear how good this ‘resistance’ is. But it’s good enough to at least protect her from instant death when tackled by a legendary wolf beast and hitting a wall. An additional bonus this dress has, is to neutralize heat and cold, which extends to Nina’s entire body. Again, the limit of this is unknown, but it’s good enough to render a low tier ice spell powerless.

Kat underwear:
It’s composed of two pieces. The black cat-shaped panties and the black cat bra. This piece of equipment is the definition of convenience. It automatically resizes to always fit the wearer no matter how much they age or how much ‘fat’ they put on, and it even automatically gets rid of dirt. The cherry on top of the cake is its boost to regeneration of all stats. This means Nina heals quicker, recovers mana quicker, recovers from fatigue quicker and so on.

Kat headband:
A black cat ear headband. This piece is a double-edged sword in many ways. It enhances all of the user’s senses, which doesn’t just include the five main senses, but even ones such as sense of balance or sense of time. The truth is, Nina would have a lot of trouble running at max speed for a long time without wearing this as she would get dizzy or disoriented and end up tripping or crashing into a tree. The headband’s other ability is to resist charm. It’s a very handy effect, which, despite what Nina initially thought, hasn’t come into play yet. Lastly, it gives an invisible boost to magic, which, except for extending the space of her bag, is pointless unless she turns on one of the cat soul variants.

Kat gloves:
Every assassin’s wet dream. They allow the user to cling to any surface, including straight walls or even the ceiling. The gloves also have extendable claws, that seemingly seem to materialize out of thin air. The claws secrete poison with varying effects. Sometimes, it kills the victim, and at other times it paralyzes or mutes them. Lastly, it boosts the wearer’s strength, making a punch from even a puny little girl like Nina send an adult man flying. Currently, these gloves are Nina’s main, and also her only, weapon.

Kat slippers:
Cat shaped slippers. They also come with knee socks, which automatically creep up the owner’s legs when the slippers are worn. The knee socks quickly retract when the wearer goes to take the slippers off. Due to this, Nina doesn’t even know about this function. The main benefit these slippers give is enhancing the wearer’s flexibility and giving them the ability to air-jump. The flexibility has been shown to be enough to dodge a barrage of magical vines moving in a chaotic way, while the air-jumps are still something Nina needs to properly learn. Even with her enhanced sense of balance, doing it continuously is too difficult for her. The slippers are by far the piece that gets the least amount of spotlight as it’s easy to forget that they are what boosts her main stat, speed.

Fun fact:
Nina never won a game of poker and blames it on bad luck rather than her inability to bluff.

Comment:
“I’m not actually a cat, you know?”

Deliah
Alternative names: Noble girl
Age: 17
Likes: Peace
Dislikes: Assassins, Math
Skills: Rational fear

First mentioned in: Chapter 17
First appeared in: Chapter 18

Description:
The first heroine to be introduced in the story. Although she suspected Nina to be a dangerous person out to kill her at first, they eventually became friends. She is by far the smartest character introduced. Due to this, she has been praised since young age and given special education. Thanks to her doting father, she’s been given a free rein on what she wants to do, but since she was always busy studying, she hasn’t thought about her future too much yet. Despite her intelligence, math is the one subject she could never conquer.
She’s a beautiful young girl with curly blond hair and blue eyes. She’s a bit taller than Nina, even counting her headband and her bust is slightly bigger as well. Though, since she always wears extravagant clothes all the time, it’s hard to notice.
Despite not being a reincarnator, she possesses a skill, which is quite rare at her age. But of course, its power and overall usefulness is nowhere near the skills granted by gods the reincarnators have.

Equipment:
She always wears over-the-top beautiful dresses, even if the situation isn’t appropriate. Her father is to thank for that.

Fun fact:
She used to prefer dogs to cats. But due to obvious reasons, that has changed.

Comment:
“I wonder what that ‘other world’ looks like…?”

Mable
Alternative names: Gorilla, The great red ape
Age: 18 appearance-wise, unknown inner age
Likes: Cute girls, Hugging
Dislikes: Traitors, Bullies
Skills: Unstoppable force, Clear mind

First mentioned in: Chapter 21
First appeared in: Chapter 21

Description:
A merchant’s daughter and Deliah’s friend, who turned out to be a reincarnator. Other than revealing she used to be male, she refuses to talk about her previous life. She says leaving the past be and looking toward the future is the way to go. She’s usually cheery and carefree, but whenever she turns serious, her presence could make a lion tremble. Nina thinks this ‘serious mode’ is her true nature and that the cheery attitude is just a facade, but she wouldn’t ever dare say that out loud.
Mable sports shoulder-length red hair, although unlike Ignis, her hair isn’t literally red, but has an orange hue instead, which sort of matches her brown eyes. She is about a head taller than Deliah, making her the tallest one of the girls. And ironically, despite being a former man, she has the largest bust among the girls as well.
Her unstoppable force is by far the single most powerful offensive skill to be introduced yet. No matter how amazing someone’s defense is, she can break through it with just a pinkie flick. The only weakness this ability has, is that she needs to actually hit the target. Speed types like Nina are a natural counter to this skill.
Her other skill is clear mind, which is supposed to protect her from any mind-altering effects like charm, as well as curses. However, seeing as Ignis’ kiss worked on her, it seems that although she cannot be cursed, other cursed person’s curse can still work on her.

Equipment:
Mable doesn’t use any notable pieces of equipment, because she mostly relies on her skills and her own wits. She wears the school uniform most of the time though.

Fun fact:
The identity of Mable’s previous life is a mystery to everyone, including the author.

Comment:
“Living your life to the fullest is the most important thing of all!”

Cana
Alternative names: Wolf gal, Weirdo
Age: 17
Likes: Animals (all of them(even spiders and cockroaches))
Dislikes: Matoto, Violence
Skills:

First mentioned in: Chapter 17
First appeared in: Chapter 22

Description:
The cursed maiden number one. She’s a very timid, but conscientious person. She usually hates violence, but due to the charm, she often found herself in a situation where she had no choice. This regret and frustration got pushed into the back of her mind and once the curse got removed, it erupted all at once. She’s now looking for a way to keep living as Nina’s and Ignis’ party member.
When she was cursed, her eyes were colorless and half of her face was covered in grayish fur. But with the curse’s removal, her eyes gained a light blue tint and the fur on her face disappeared. Her hair is still grayish silver though. She’s as tall as Nina, if you count in the cat ear headband.
With her curse gone, she went from someone with a great battle potential to a powerless girl. She’s currently trying to learn how to use a bow, but has trouble releasing the arrow when there’s a cute animal in her way.

Equipment:
She used to wear simple robes with hoods just to hide her face, but now that her curse is gone, Ignis took her to a clothes store and picked out a nice hunter outfit for easy movement, as well as a white dress to wear on free days.

Fun fact:
Cana’s name was derived from the word ‘canine’, meaning ‘relating to or resembling a dog or dogs’.

Comment:
“I want to see Tapi again… and shade too… and nightmare… and…”

Ignis
Alternative names: Iza dungeon conqueror
Age: 18
Likes: Fame, Friendly people
Dislikes: False rumors, Scary people
Skills:

First mentioned in: Chapter 29
First appeared in: Chapter 29

Description:
The cursed maiden number two. She’s the loud tomboy type on the outside, but often gets timid and scared when under pressure. She’s very easygoing about most things, which means her mood can change on impulse, but it also means she can adapt to unexpected situations pretty quickly.
She wears the cliché hairstyle of all tomboy girls, twin tails, and her hair color is deep red, which happens to be her favorite color. It also goes well with the fiery style dress she wears all the time. She has brown eyes and is about the same height as Deliah, but her chest is as pitiful as Nina’s. For some unknown reason, a false rumor about her appearance has spread and it annoys her quite a bit.
In terms of abilities, she’s an expert fire mage. You would be hard-pressed to find someone at her skill level and still this young. However, that hasn’t always been the case. Before getting cursed, she had absolutely no talent when it came to magic. Although she doesn’t like to admit it, the curse really helped to discover her hidden potential. And it didn’t fade even after the curse depleted.

Equipment:

Sunshine, the fire staff:
It’s a weapon Ignis took a great liking to after discovering it inside the Iza dungeon. It boosts the user’s fire-based magic and can also act as a catalyst for various spells. Ignis thought long and hard to come up with a good name for a fire staff and settled on ‘sunshine’ in the end.

Fiery dress:
Her favorite dress from the times before she got cursed. It doesn’t actually have any magical properties. She just likes how it looks.

Fun fact:
Her hair used to be golden blond before she got cursed.

Comment:
“Why does everyone think I’m a tall woman with large chest?!”

Spectre
Alternative names:
Age: 13
Likes: Master, Master, Master, Sometimes Ignis
Dislikes: People hurting master, People insulting master, Gorillas
Skills:

First mentioned in: Chapter 37
First appeared in: Chapter C1 (38-39)

Description:
A young girl who was sold into slavery by her parents at young age. Because of this, she suffered from severe depression and social anxiety. She eventually gave up all hope on ever living a normal life. However, that changed when a knight in a shining armor (Matoto in some rags) riding on a white horse (more of a black wolf) appeared, beat up all of the slave dealers (the wolves did most of the work) and rescued her. It was a love at first sight. She threw away her previous name given to her by those despicable parents of hers and accepted a new name from her beloved master. Even without a charm, she is the most dedicated among all of Matoto’s harem members and never hesitates when ordered by him to do something. Some might call her ‘love’ an ‘obsession’ or ‘yandere’, but let’s ignore that.
Appearance-wise, she has a small build, long white hair and pale blue eyes. Since her curse transforms only her into a fog, but ignores any clothing and accessories, she got used to always being naked.
When cursed, she had the ability to freely turn her body into a fog and back again. With her cursed absorbed by Nina, this ability has mostly gone away. However, she retained some of her talent for wind and fog-based magic, even though she had none before the curse.

Equipment:
Literally none.

Fun fact:
After ‘obtaining’ Cana, Matoto wanted to have four girls, one for each of the classical elements. Spectre was supposed to be ‘air’.

Comment:
“Master is so cool and beautiful and kind and…”

Kuro
Alternative names: Kent, Boss, old geezer
Age: 18 as a cat, 33 as a human previously
Likes: Nina, Power
Dislikes: Being a cat
Skills: Immortality, Pocket dimension

First mentioned in: Chapter 27
First appeared in: Chapter 27

Description:
A reincarnator, who is actually Nina’s brother from their previous lives. She still doesn’t know that though. He’s the type of person who likes to be in charge and above others. However, due to Nina’s blessing, he often reverts to a docile pet cat when she’s around.
The god, who reincarnated him was, no other than Kat. Kuro took it as a cruel joke of an evil god and swore to get revenge one day.
Appearance-wise, he looks like your regular black cat with yellow eyes. If he stood by a regular black cat, it would be very difficult to differentiate between them.
Having single-handedly defeated half a dozen of other reincarnators, leading a secret underground organization and having ties to a city lord, he is arguably the most powerful character in the series so far.
His pocket dimension allows him to put inside anything he wants, although if he is’t touching the object, it takes a bit more focus to store it. Taking out the object is possible in many different ways. He can simply drop it on the ground or he can launch it, turning it into an offensive skill as well.
He mentioned having immortality, but not much is known about it.

Equipment:
Kuro hides countless weapons and other utility items in his pocket dimension, using them when the situation calls for it.

Fun fact:
He can actually store live people in his pocket dimension. But he never tried it since he always assumed he couldn’t.

Comment:
“Meow… me-… MEOW MEOW?!”

Translation for Kuro’s comment:
“You know… I-… WAIT, WHY AM I NOT BEING TRANSLATED?!”

Matoto
Alternative names: Jerk, Curse guy
Age: 18, unknown inner age
Likes: Girls~
Dislikes: Girls…
Skills: Cursed blessing, ???

First mentioned in: Chapter 24
First appeared in: Chapter C1 (38-39)

Description:
A reincarnator and the main antagonist of this arc. Due to certain experiences in his previous life, he lost all ability to feel empathy and turned into someone who thought of others as simple objects or NPCs in a game. For that reason, even if Cana and Ignis were friendly with him, he wanted to make extra sure they wouldn’t betray him and placed a charm on them. Ironically, that was the very reason they ‘betrayed’ him later on.
He has short brown hair and eyes and is about as tall as Mable.
Matoto is another victim of Kat’s pranks. Wishing for an ability to enchant things with various effects, he has been given ‘cursed blessing’. It’s a very hard to master skill, which allows him to curse and bless (mostly curse) objects and people with varying effects. Unfortunately, before he learned how it even works, he ended up placing a very powerful curse on himself, which always made people act on their true feelings when dealing with him (eg. hate for most people, or friendliness for Cana at the beginning).
As a reincarnator, he is supposed to have two skills, but his other skill is still unknown.

Equipment:
When in public, he made it a habit to hide his face under a hood. But when alone with his girls, he likes to wear just pants and nothing else. But when alone with his girls, he likes to wear just pants and nothing else. He also carries around a couple of small pebbles in his pockets, serving as catalysts for when he wants to make use of his curses.

Fun fact:
He used to live in a simple village where he became friends with Cana. It was when he tried to show off his powers to her that he accidentally cursed her. Following that, they were both chased out of the village.

Comment:
“Maybe… this wasn’t such a bad experience, after all…”
